Recently, the 13th Shandong Universities Students Art Festival and the 15th "Southern Surveying and Mapping Cup" Shandong Universities Students Surveying Skills Competition were successfully held in Zaozhuang University. Our school representatives have won the first and second prizes of the group respectively. More than 500 teachers and students from 20 teams from 10 universities in the province, including China University of Petroleum, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Shandong Agricultural University, Shandong Jianzhu University, and Shandong University of Technology, participated in the competition.

This competition is jointly sponsored by Shandong Association for Science and Technology, the Shandong Department of Education, and the Shandong Party Committee of the Communist Youth League, organized by Shandong Provincial Society for Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformatics and Zaozhuang University, and co-organized by Guangzhou Southern Surveying and Mapping Technology Co., Ltd. The winning of this competition once again demonstrated the solid theoretical foundation and excellent practical level, strong team awareness and on-the-spot adaptability of our students. Through "promoting learning by competition", "promoting teaching by competition" and "promoting reform by competition", it further promotes the education and teaching reform of surveying and mapping majors in schools, continuously improves students' surveying and mapping skills and practical ability, and better cultivates students' teamwork spirit and rigorous and meticulous scientific attitude.

At the closing ceremony, Liu Qizhi, Secretary General of Shandong Provincial Society for Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformatics, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong Provincial Institute of Land Surveying and mapping, and Lin Yong, Dean of the School of Urban Construction Engineering, Zaozhuang University, jointly presented the flag to Cao Xuewei, Deputy Dean of the School of Land Resources and Surveying and Mapping Engineering of our school. Next year, our school will serve as the organizer of this competition and continue to provide a platform for the surveying and mapping industry in our province to inherit culture, exchange skills, promote innovation, and tap talents, and help the scientific development of Shandong's surveying, mapping and geographic information industry.
