TAFE Delegation visited SDAEU from New South Wales, Australia

On the morning of the 28th, Phoebe Chen, Director of the Australian Education and Training Association, and 11 membersfrom the TAFE Delegation of New South Wales, Australia visited our school. Vice-President Zhang Zhaoming attended themeeting, and thedirectors of the Academic Affairs Office, the Student Affairs Office, the International Exchange and Cooperation College,theFood Science and Engineering College and some of the teachers and student representatives attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Zhang Zhaoming expressed warm welcome to the TAFE delegationof New South Wales, Australia. Vice President Zhang Zhaoming said that the Australian Education and Training Association and our school have carried out a number of cooperation on the basis of mutual trust and support. The delegation’s visit has enhanced the friendship between the two sides, and hoped to continue to communicate in depth and expand new areas of cooperation. Vice-President Zhang Zhaoming quoted Confucius as saying, “It is such a delight to have friends coming from afar”, and once again welcome the guests coming from afar. Phoebe Chen introduced the members of the delegation. Ms. Lisa, the head of the delegation, said that she is very pleased to be able to visitSDAEU with their TAFE students. The direct communication between the students of both sides will enable Australian students to further understand the Chinese teaching environment and cultural atmosphere and promote the mutual learning of the advantages of different educational systems.she hoped that next timeshe will have the opportunity to bring more students to visit SDAEU and strengthen the friendly exchanges between the two sides.

Men Huihua, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office, Chen Yuhang, a teacher representative from the Food Science and Engineering College, and students representatives gave speeches successively on vocational education, Sino-Australian cooperative education projects and university life. During the exchanges, the Australian delegation was particularly impressed with the practical activities such as internships in the industrial park during the school period, the labor week and the use of holidays to teach in remote areas such as Guizhou, and highly affirmedthe students behavior of applying the theoretical knowledge intopractice and giving back to the society. At the same time,they also sang high praise ofthe teaching model that closely combines the theoretical practice of our school.

After the meeting, the delegation observed the practice teaching activities of our school. In the workshop of the Mechanical and Electronic Engineering College,they visitedthe processing of ABS structural parts and the turning of metric triangular external threads. In the intelligent greenhouse of the Garden Science and Engineering College, the flower cultivation technology courses and vegetable cultivation courses were observed.In the Food Science and Engineering College lab,theyobserved the production of baking food for students and tasted the desserts designed by students. During the process of observation, the Australian delegation showed great interest and highly praised the practical ability of our students and the teaching methods ofourteachers.Soon afterwards,the delegation participated in the cultural activities organized byour student associations. The students exhibited calligraphy works, musical instruments, traditional handicrafts, etc., and presented calligraphy and handicraft works as gifts to members of the Australian delegation. The students of the delegation werequite marvel at the traditional culture of our country and were surprised by the comprehensive quality of our students' versatility.

The visit of the TAFE delegation from New South Wales, Australia deepened the friendship between the two sides, promoted the exchange of teachers and students, increased the cultural diversity of the campus, and enabled more Australian students to understand the school philosophy, teaching model andtalent training methods ofSDAEU.This visithas laidfirm foundation for further expansion of cooperation innew areas .
