From December 25th to 27th, the 14th iCAN International Contest of InnovAtion (China) Finals and the 2020 Asia-Pacific Innovation Academy (APIA) International Innovation Acceleration Camp hosted by iCAN International Alliance, Asia-Pacific Innovation Academy and other unitswas held in Yuyao, Zhejiang, Innovation Industrial Park. Students of Engineering Innovation Club of SDAEU have excellent performance in the competition. They wonone national second prize in offline competitions,one most popular prize on site, andtwo national third prizes in online competitions.
With the strong support of school leaders and professional teachers of the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the engineering innovation teams led by instructors Zhao Zhihuan, Mou Xiangyang, Han Yirong, Pan Yingyue, and Liu Weili experienced the arduous project production in the early stage and participated in the 14th iCAN in Yuyao, Zhejiang. In the finals of the 14th iCAN International Contest of InnovAtion (China), the work participating in the project "Portable Plastic Film Covering Machine" won the national second prize, the "self-following spray barrel robot" won the national third prize, and the "Smart Electric Toothbrush" won the national third prize.
The iCAN competition was initiated by Peking University in 2007. For more than ten years, it has been adhering to the spirit of “confidence, persistence, and dreaming”, guiding and encouraging college students to innovate, and is committed to promoting the rapid development of high-tech industry and building a more convenient international exchange platform. The iCAN competition has developed into an international event since 2010, covering nearly 30 countries and regions, with a total of nearly 600,000 participants from all over the world. It is known as the "largest world youth innovation event".
Since its establishment in November 2017, the Engineering Innovation Association of the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering has used our professional laboratory as a platform, combined with the construction requirements of "new engineering" education, and has been committed to cultivating students into high-end talents with a complete knowledge system who can continue their studies, and cultivating applied comprehensive talents with certain engineering innovation capabilities who are suitable for enterprise development, and recognition of corporate culture.In the past three years, the achievements have been remarkable, with a total of two national second prizes,eight national third prizes, 19 provincial first prizes, 46 provincial second prizes, 65 provincial third prizes, and oneInternet popularity award; in addition to the above awards, it also wonone item in the iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Talent Pool, 13 Outstanding Instructor Awards, andone Outstanding Organization Award. In June 2019,it won the Outstanding Science and Technology Association of University Students in Shandong Province.
