On October 20th, October 26-27th, and November 2nd, the the Shandong Division of the 2019“FLTRP ETIC Cup” Uchallenge was grandly held in Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College, Qufu Normal University, and Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology. More than 400 English majors and non-majors from universities in Shandong participated in the contest. After a fierce competition, Ma Zheng from the School of Humanities of SDAEU won the first prize in the Writing contest of English major group, and Shi Yunhua of the School of Business won the third prize in the Writing contest of Public English group. Ren Jinshuang of the School of Land Resources and Surveying and Mapping Engineering won the third prize in the Reading contest, LiShuyu and Li Jiaji from the School of Land Resources and Surveying and Mapping Engineering, and Wang Qing from the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering wonthe prize for excellence in the English Reading and Writing contests; Sun Xinya from the School of Humanities won the first prize in the Speech contest.

The Preliminary Contest of the 2019“FLTRP ETIC Cup” Uchallenge is hosted by the School of Humanities. Through active publicity in the early stage, students from our school participated enthusiastically, and the total number of participants in the online preliminary rounds was nearly 500. Finally, 10 students were selected to represent our school to participate in the provincial contest. In the nearly one month before the contest, the teachers and students have been preparing carefully for the competition. The instructor has formulated a thorough training plan for the contestants. Under the careful guidance of the teachers, ten contestants calmly took the challenge, lastly got through the final and returned with honor.

The “FLTRP ETIC Cup” Uchallenge is co-hosted by the Ministry of Education Colleges and Universities Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee, the Ministry of Education Colleges and Universities English Major Teaching Guidance Subcommittee, China Foreign Languages and Education Research Center United Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Beijing Foreign Studies Online Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and China Foreign Language Evaluation Center, including the English Public Speaking Contest (Undergraduate group, Vocational group), the English Writing Contest (Undergraduate group, Vocational group) and the English Reading Contest (Undergraduate group). Each of the three items has its own emphasis and mutual promotion, and provides a comprehensive platform for college students to demonstrate foreign language skills, communication skills and speculative skills.
