Recently, the results of the Shandong Division of the 2019 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling were announced. A total of 21 teams from our school won prizes, including one first prize in Shandong, 13 second prizes, and seven third prizes.

This contest has received strong support from school leaders, relevant functional departments and secondary schools to ensure the smooth running of various tasks during the training and competition. The Basic Education Department is responsible for organizing registration, team formation, campus selection and other links. During the summer vacation, the modeling team instructs teachers to conduct intensive training and simulation training for students participating in the modeling competition for more than 20 days. Participating students were not afraid of the extreme heat, trained hard, and prepared carefully for the race. The three days of this year's competition coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. All participating teams deepen into the topic with reasonable assumptions, scientific modeling, close cooperation, and overnight operations. They successfully submitted the papers and completed the competition.

The China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling has become the largest basic subjects competition in the country and the most influential at home and abroad. It is one of the first 19 competitions to be included into the“University Subjects Competition Ranking Last”. In 2019, 1490 universitiesor campuses fromChina, the United States and Singapore, 42992 teams (39,293 undergraduate teams, 3699 juniorteams), and more than 120,000 people registered to participate.
